Welcome Message from Carol Jenkins, CEO
World Learning believes that the best hope for peace, justice, and sustainability lies in bringing people together. Through cultural immersion, experiential learning, and information sharing, our programs equip others to collaboratively address the most pressing issues of our time.
Throughout my years at World Learning, I have had the fortunate opportunity to meet with many of our participants, partners, and alumni—a global network of learners. Our programs help them understand other cultures, master new skills, and cultivate networks. Our teaching and training methodologies empower them to find locally relevant, sustainable, and implementable solutions. Our approaches emphasize flexibility and adaptability that help them tackle real-world problems. They, in turn, make extraordinary changes in their lives and communities.
Please join us—and those we work with and serve around the world—in our pursuit to create a brighter and better future for all.

Program Description
The STEM Hub provided a space for visitors to think creatively, build their confidence, apply their knowledge to solve real problems, and embrace the role of trial and error in the educational process.
Boeing partnered with World Learning to establish a center for extracurricular STEM (science, technology, engineering, and mathematics) training and education in Cairo, Egypt. The STEM Hub equipped Egypt’s young scientists, innovators, and entrepreneurs with the necessary skills to serve national objectives and lead Egypt into the next era of technical innovation. The Hub offered programs specially designed to allow participants to explore, apply, and innovate through hands-on activities and our project-based learning approach. Our learning methodology improved the quality of knowledge acquisition as well as leverage the skills, talents, and leadership potential of Egyptian youth.
Programs offered at the STEM Hub included:
- Robotics
- Coding and Programming
- Environment and Recycling
- Energy Management
- Business and Entrepreneurship
- Graphics and Multimedia
Special workshops also supported teachers in developing additional skills in STEM application and delivery. These courses were led by an experienced staff of education professionals, STEM experts, and passionate mentors who wanted to share their knowledge, experience, and successes with the next generation of Egypt’s problem solvers.
Program Goals
- Offered high-quality extracurricular STEM education programs to Cairo youth.
- Provided professional development opportunities in STEM to teachers through pedagogical training.
- Ensured the inclusion of marginalized communities through targeted scholarships.
