IDEAS Grants in Action: Gallaudet University

The Capacity Building Program for U.S. Study Abroad helps Increase and Diversify Education Abroad for U.S. Students through its IDEAS small grants competition. Twenty-two higher education institutions in the United States received grants of up to $35,000 as a part of the 2019 grant competition. Deaf, deafblind, and hard of hearing students are underrepresented in study abroad. With funding from an IDEAS grant, Gallaudet University is creating a resource to help institutions support and encourage study abroad for deaf, deafblind, and hard of hearing students.
