Program Description

A program of the U.S. Department of State, the Global Undergraduate Exchange Program (Global UGRAD) brings exceptional undergraduate student leaders from over 60 countries and other areas to the United States.

They participate in a one-semester, non-degree exchange at U.S. higher education institutions to enhance students’ academic knowledge and professional skills and learn about U.S. values and perspectives.

The Global Undergraduate Exchange Program is sponsored by the U.S. Department of State with funding provided by the U.S. Government and administered by World Learning.

Program Goals

  • Enhance students’ academic knowledge, English language, and professional skills needed to pursue long-term academic and career goals.
  • Cultivate students’ comprehensive and nuanced understanding of the United States and American culture and values.
  • Empower students to volunteer and engage in their U.S. host and home communities.
