Welcome Message from Carol Jenkins
For more than 90 years, World Learning has equipped individuals and institutions to address the world’s most pressing problems. We believe that, working together with our partners, we can change this world for the better.
On my travels, I’ve had the opportunity to meet with many of those who have joined us in this mission. In Baghdad, we’ve trained more than 2,300 Iraqi youth who are already giving back at home. In London, our partners in the TAAP Initiative strongly believe that we are all responsible to practice inclusion. And in Vermont, our Experiment in International Living and School for International Training participants prove every day that they have the tools and the determination to change the world.
Please join us in our pursuit of a more peaceful and just world.

Program Description
The C5 + O.N.E. Ed program aims to create a cohort of highly qualified English language teachers who can teach English in Kazakhstan, Kyrgyz Republic, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan, and Uzbekistan, as well as in the English Access Microscholarship Program and other U.S. Department of State English programs.
The C5 + O.N.E. Ed program offers a unique professional development opportunity for early-career English teachers from Central Asia (Kazakhstan, Kyrgyz Republic, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan, and Uzbekistan). This program brings together 200 teachers and 20 World Learning and Georgetown University expert trainers to enhance teaching skills and English proficiency. Through a combination of online courses, an intensive in-person workshop in Almaty, Kazakhstan, and ongoing mentoring, participants will gain expertise in communicative language teaching, student-centered methods, technology integration, and more. The program aims to create a strong network of educators who can deliver high-quality English instruction, especially in programs like C5 + O.N.E. and the English Access Microscholarship Program and other U.S. Department of State English programs.
Participants must commit to online learning from November 2024 through February 2025, attend a month-long workshop in July 2025, and actively engage in professional development through 2026. By 2027, they are expected to teach at least one class in a C5 program or related initiative.
