About Us
Welcome Message from Carol Jenkins
For more than 90 years, World Learning has equipped individuals and institutions to address the world’s most pressing problems. We believe that, working together with our partners, we can change this world for the better.
On my travels, I’ve had the opportunity to meet with many of those who have joined us in this mission. In Baghdad, we’ve trained more than 2,300 Iraqi youth who are already giving back at home. In London, our partners in the TAAP Initiative strongly believe that we are all responsible to practice inclusion. And in Vermont, our Experiment in International Living and School for International Training participants prove every day that they have the tools and the determination to change the world.
Please join us in our pursuit of a more peaceful and just world.

The Experiment Wins Top Study Abroad Awards
February 7, 2022
At The Experiment and The Experiment Digital, we constantly strive to provide immersive, educational, safe, and fun intercultural exchange programs, both in-person and virtual. That’s why we’re proud to announce our recent awards that recognize The Experiment Digital and The Experiment as leaders in study abroad and exchange.
We are excited to share that The Experiment Digital’s International Virtual Exchanges program was chosen as the Top Online Study Abroad Program of 2021 by GoAbroad.
“In this program, I learned about many fundamental points on subjects. It also helped me to expand and open my mind to the world, as it completely changed my behavior and gave me new skills to be able to carry out projects that can make a difference and inspire others,” said one review from alumna Carla Terrazas Castellon.
The Experiment was also chosen as a top study-abroad provider across three categories in the Go Overseas Community Choice Awards 2021: Academics, Fun, and Safety.
Why are these awards important? Each platform provides information, reviews, and ratings of study-abroad providers. Because these sites are neutral third parties, they are valuable tools for potential participants to learn about The Experiment’s programs.
“These awards were chosen by the community that makes our programs unique — Experimenters. By providing honest reviews and ratings, we can directly see how our programs are making an impact,” said Christina Thomas, divisional vice president of youth exchange for The Experiment. “They help highlight how The Experiment has combined academic programming that tackles complex global issues while providing a safe and fun learning environment for 90 years.”
“Hands down my favorite program out of all the other different programs I took part in. I learned a lot from the other participants and the facilitators. We had fun while discussing important topics and learned a lot about how to solve serious problems facing us,” Farida, an alum of The Experiment Digital Youth Leadership & Community Service program, wrote in a review.
The Experiment and The Experiment Digital remain committed to providing safe, fun, and immersive educational experiences that have made us the leader in intercultural exchanges for 90 years! Above all, we couldn’t do it without our community of Experimenters.
