International Visitor Leadership Program

Bring the World to Your Home

World Learning hosts students and professionals from all over the globe in pursuit of cross-cultural dialogue and mutual understanding. Become a part of a globalized world by hosting our visitors for dinner at your home.

Volunteer to share your home for an evening with participants on the Department of State’s International Visitor Leadership Program (IVLP). By welcoming these professional exchange visitors for an informal meal, you gain the opportunity to share food, stories, and cultural exploration with people from all over the world. Visitors cite home hospitality as a favorite and meaningful component of their program because they are able to experience American culture outside of the office and build personal connections with citizens like you. Make new friends from around the world and gain insight into your region of interest, or learn about somewhere entirely new!

Currently this opportunity is only available to residents of the Washington, DC area. If you live outside of Washington, DC and would like to participate, let us know and we can connect you with a local organization within our IVLP network that offers this volunteer opportunity in your area.
