Program Description

The Online Facilitator Training for Global Professionals program is a fully funded program that teaches educators and professionals across industries how to facilitate meaningful virtual interactions on a range of digital platforms.

The Online Facilitator Training for Global Professionals program is a free online program that strengthens participants’ abilities to lead engaging learning experiences and virtual exchanges. Through a mix of asynchronous and synchronous activities, participants will explore digital engagement tools, practice comprehensive facilitation strategies, and share best practices with their international peers. This flexible program offers hands-on training and opportunities for global collaboration. 

Participants will discover the benefits of virtual exchange through meaningful learning experiences and expand their professional networks as they engage with colleagues around the world. They will also earn a Certificate of Completion from World Learning. 

Ideal participants should have a strong interest in increasing their global awareness, developing online facilitation and communication skills, and opening their thinking to a variety of perspectives. 

Program Goals

Participants will learn to:

  • Understand how personal culture and identity inform virtual facilitation strategies.
  • Effectively use facilitation skills to lead asynchronous and synchronous activities in an online environment.
  • Develop a Virtual Facilitation Plan and toolkit for future online facilitation.
  • Utilize various tools and techniques (such as AI) to connect across digital platforms.

Applicants must: 

  • Be 21+ years or older 
  • Have reliable internet access and use a device suitable for online learning 
  • Be proficient in English 
  • Actively engage in three to four hours per week of asynchronous, online activities  
  • Attend one synchronous session every two weeks 
  • Commit to complete a two-hour post-program evaluation & interview with program staff
