Program Description

The Digital Connections Program aims to foster local, regional, and global networks of digital influencers across multiple sectors to foster resilient information ecosystems and address new and emerging threats.

Around the world, new technologies are rapidly changing how people connect and engage in the digital and information field. The Digital Connections Program equips participants with greater knowledge of the information landscape and digital literacy skills to affect change in their professional organizations and home communities, leading to stronger civil society institutions. Through various projects across several regions, the Digital Connections Program seeks to empower networks of diverse professionals who can identify creative and sustainable solutions to current and future information challenges.

Program Goals

  • Increase participants’ understanding of how to use digital tools and products responsibly in support of democratic values and human freedoms;
  • Expand the skills and resources of a diverse group of multi-disciplinary professionals and civic leaders, both in the United States and around the world, to develop whole-of-society solutions to address complex global challenges;
  • Facilitate the sharing of knowledge and expertise across borders, thematic areas, and generational divides to counter and build societal resilience to disinformation and online hate and harassment;
  • Develop, connect, and harness the power of global networks to support democratic values and human freedoms.
