WASHINGTON (April 25, 2016)

We at World Learning were deeply saddened by this month’s devastating earthquake in Ecuador. We are grateful and relieved to report that all students, staff and partners of our SIT Study Abroad and The Experiment in International Living programs are unhurt and safe. Our thoughts remain with the many victims and their families.

World Learning has a long history in Ecuador. We have had programs in the country for more than 35 years, and we have deep bonds with communities where we operate. Over the past few days, we have heard from many alumni and community members who want to help those in the World Learning family and other Ecuadorians who have been impacted by this tragedy. The outpouring of support and well wishes underscores the powerful connection to Ecuador that many in the World Learning community share.

If you would like to help the people of Ecuador, we urge you to consider making donations to the following organizations:

Sincerely,

Donald Steinberg
President and CEO of World Learning
