About Us
Welcome Message from Carol Jenkins
For more than 90 years, World Learning has equipped individuals and institutions to address the world’s most pressing problems. We believe that, working together with our partners, we can change this world for the better.
On my travels, I’ve had the opportunity to meet with many of those who have joined us in this mission. In Baghdad, we’ve trained more than 2,300 Iraqi youth who are already giving back at home. In London, our partners in the TAAP Initiative strongly believe that we are all responsible to practice inclusion. And in Vermont, our Experiment in International Living and School for International Training participants prove every day that they have the tools and the determination to change the world.

Heather Beard
- Director of Enrollment Management & Partnerships, Youth Exchanges
Heather Beard is an international education professional with two decades of admissions and business development experience in higher education and the non-profit sector. Heather joined World Learning in 2010 as an admissions officer for the School for International Training. In 2013, Heather transitioned to associate director of admissions for The Experiment in International Living and was promoted to director of admissions in 2015. As director of enrollment management & partnerships for World Learning Youth Exchanges, Heather now manages enrollment for not only The Experiment and The Experiment Digital but also USG-funded youth programs including the Iraqi Young Leaders Exchange Program (IYLEP), Youth Ambassadors, and Jóvenes en Acción. Before joining World Learning, Heather served in admissions and administrative roles for The Putney School and the Hopkins Center for the Arts at Dartmouth College. Heather has studied abroad throughout Europe and traveled to Costa Rica and Argentina, and she looks forward to more travel opportunities. Heather enjoys spending time with her family and supporting her community in southern Vermont, as well as photography, running, and hiking.
