Jill Benderly, STAR Founder and Co-Director, Zagreb
Since 1986, expert on Eastern Europe, especially Yugoslavia and its successor states, with extensive publications focused on social change movements and gender. Previously pioneered programs that build cooperation across ethnic and national borders in the U.S. and Mideast. M.A. in Women's Studies and East European Studies, George Washington University.

Selma Hadzihalilovic, Coordinator, Bosnia & Herzegovina Anti-Trafficking Community Mobilization Project.
She has extensive training and experience on the promotion and protection of human rights, women’s human rights, conscientious objection to compulsory military service, and policy making and networking on the national and international level. She is a core member of Women Waging Peace and other national and international human rights networks.

Gordana Pajnic, Administrative/Financial Manager, Zagreb
Extensive financial management experience with bilateral programs and USAID. Oversees administrative and financial reporting staff in the region and country office, coordinating with the Washington and Vermont World Learning offices.

Mirna Santro, Administrative/Financial Manager, Zagreb
Over six years experience with international organizations in Finance/Administration including CARE and International Catholic Migration Commission (ICMC), involving work in Macedonia and Kosovo.

Lael Stegall, STAR Co-founder and Advisor, Washington D.C. and Deer Isle, Maine
Extensive experience in women's policy leadership in domestic and international settings as founding organizer of National Women's Political Caucus, social change philanthropies, EMILY's List, the Communications Consortium Media Center, and coordinator of the media campaign for women's human rights at the UN World Conference in Vienna, 1993.

Ljiljana Varga, Chief of Party, Croatia Trafficking Prevention Activity.
She has extensive experience promoting local NGO-government cooperation in Croatian border communities and developing and implementing awareness-raising programs. Her experience ranges from development and capacity building on local and international levels to providing training and technical assistance in project cycle management. She has significant experience and particular interest in needs assessment and monitoring and evaluation of development projects.
