Adam LeClair

Title: Project Director for the Leaders Advancing Democracy-Mongolia Project

Adam LeClair is an international development professional with over ten years of experience in program management and design, democracy and governance issues, direct community engagement, and civil society strengthening. He has experience implementing initiatives in Burma, Afghanistan and Moldova specifically focused on emerging democratic advocates, civil society strengthening, civic education and advocacy, governance, and youth empowerment. LeClair's technical expertise includes civil society development, training and education initiatives with a special focus on advancing civic engagement opportunities for women and youth through inclusive program interventions.

LeClair is currently project director for World Learning’s USAID-funded Leaders Advancing Democracy (LEAD)-Mongolia Project supporting the next generation of changes agents who are invested in positive social change. He oversees a variety LEAD-Mongolia’s leadership programs, international exchanges, and civic education activities.  Previously LeClair served as project director for World Learning’s Institute for Political and Civic Engagement (IPACE) in Burma – an innovative program designed for Burma’s up-and-coming democracy advocates – where he launched new operations in Mandalay and a national outreach training initiative. In Afghanistan with the International Foundation for Electoral Systems (IFES), he spearheaded youth and women’s leadership activities, and supported stakeholders advocating for political finance reform. At Global Communities (CHF International), he provided programmatic oversight for offices across Asia. Since his arrival at World Learning, LeClair has remained closely involved with social inclusion programming, including support to the first-ever TAAP (Transformation Access, Agency and Power) inclusion workshop in Burma and Inclusion Analysis Report for LEAD-Mongolia. 

LeClair earned a master's degree in public administration and his bachelor’s degree in government and international relations from Clark University in Massachusetts.
