Civil Society Engagement Training Sessions

Continuing an effort that started in 2007, World Learning is has extended its Civil Society Engagement training with the World Bank's Civil Society Team in Washington, D.C.  This training is offered over three (3) targeted sessions for bank staff throughout each year.  World Learning also co-hosts the annual World Bank Civil Society orientation sessions in Washington, D.C and in 2009 in Ankara, Turkey.  This valuable relationship continues to underscore the respect that World Learning has earned over the years in this important sector.

As shared, World Learning was pleased to deploy Chief of Party for Cyprus Mr. Jan Karpowicz as our representative at the Civil Society Policy Forum held in connection with the World Bank and International Monetary Fund (IMF) Annual Meetings in Istanbul, Turkey.  On behalf of World Learning's Civil Society & Governance Team, he chaired the orientation session.  The Civil Society Policy Forum annually brings together Bank and Fund staff, CSO representatives, government officials, academics, and others to exchange views on a variety of topics ranging from the global economic crisis and climate change, to governance reform.
