World Learning Announces the Advancing Leaders Fellowship
WASHINGTON (February 7, 2013) -- World Learning is pleased to announce the creation of the Advancing Leaders Fellowship, a program of the World Learning Exchange, that will provide alumni with training, resources and support to implement original social innovation projects.
The nine-month program provides each fellow with $10,000 in funding to implement his or her project. The projects can be located anywhere in the world and address a variety of social issues, as long as there is an innovative approach and a clear need. The first three months of the fellowship are dedicated to leadership development and social innovation training, and the final six months to project implementation.
The fellowship is open to alumni of all World Learning programs. Fellows will demonstrate strong leadership skills; entrepreneurial vision, creativity and resourcefulness; a passion for serving and empowering others; the necessary experience and skill to carry out their project; and knowledge of and relationships with the community in which they will implement their project.
Five fellowships will be awarded every six months and the first round of applications are due March 31, 2013. For more information and to access application materials visit the Advancing Leaders Fellowship web page. Completed applications and questions about the fellowship should be sent to fellowships@worldlearning.org.
