Explanation of Costs

Enrollment Deposit

Upon acceptance to the degree program, students make a $400 deposit that will reserve their place in the class and is credited toward the first-semester tuition. This deposit is non-refundable. In the case of student deferment, the enrollment deposit may be retained on account for a maximum of two years.

Late Payment Fee

Late fees ($50.00 per occurrence) will apply for payment received after the due date.

Health and Accident Insurance

Student insurance coverage through SIT is mandatory unless proof of insurance is provided for consideration of waiver. The waiver is not guaranteed.

Room and Meals

The student is sent a Housing Request Form when she/he makes an enrollment deposit. The student submits a $100 housing deposit and a completed Housing Request Form, which then reserves a room on campus and is applied towards the student's first-semester housing costs. If the student plans to live off campus, a housing deposit is not required. The student should submit the Housing Request Form indicating she/he will live off campus. Please note that the housing deposit becomes non-refundable on May 15, 2007 for programs starting in the summer and July 1, 2007 for those starting in the fall. If a student moves off campus while enrolled in the on-campus phase of the program, the student will incur a $450 fee for breaking the housing contract. Board charges are refunded on a pro-rated basis.

All students living on campus are required to take part in SIT's meal plan. All meals at SIT feature "a la carte" pricing such that each item (e.g., cereal, juice, soup, salad, entree, dessert) has a discrete price. There are no refunds of remaining balances.

Dismissal for Non-Payment of Fees

Students are expected to pay their tuition and fees in full and on time. If payment is not made on schedule and if satisfactory payment arrangements are not made with Student Accounts, the student is administratively withdrawn for non-payment.

Refund Policy
