The FORECAST Kosovo project includes four components: Human and Institutional Capacity Development, Participant Training, Technical Assistance, and Academic Study & Education.
- Human and Institutional Capacity Development helps institutions improve their organizational performance. In one initiative, World Learning is helping the University of Prishtina shift many of its student and administrative processes from paper-based to electronic – this will increase efficiency and transparency.
- Participant Training builds professional skills through study tours and training. Approximately 700 Kosovo professionals and leaders have participated in nearly 70 programs that contribute to the economic and democratic development of Kosovo.
- Technical Assistance responds to a variety of time-sensitive needs, such as assistance with the drafting of the Kosovo Constitution in 2007. It is used to explore new programmatic areas.
- The Academic Study and Education component supports Masters Degree studies for civil servants at the American University in Kosovo – in order to help build a professional civil service. Numerous scholarships for undergraduate study are provided for minority Serb, Turkish and Roma communities. In addition, FORECAST supports extracurricular computer and English language clubs in 14 communities.
