France: Capturing France on Film

Orientation in Paris

Participants at the Eiffel Tower

During your three-day orientation in Paris, become an expert at negotiating the Metro, visit the Arc de Triomphe and the Louvre, and meander down the Champs Elysées. Practice French as you and your group visit local vendors to buy breads, pastries, fruits, and cheeses for a picnic lunch.

Homestay and Photography

The Louvre

Under the guidance of a Parisian photojournalist and documentarian, you receive a thorough introduction to the beauty and power of photography. Following your 17-day homestay, return to Paris to create a photodocumentary on a topic of your choice.

Classes in technique deepen your mastery of light, ambience, and storyline. Explore the colorful neighborhoods of Paris equipped with your camera and French language skills, then join your group to develop your images and review your experiences. Your journey culminates with a show of your work in southern Paris.
