Mexico: Community Service and Travel
Orientation in Mexico City
Your adventure begins in historic Mexico City. Learn about Mexico’s people and its dramatic past at the Zocalo as you visit the stunning cathedral and Palacio Nacional and gaze upon the evocative murals by Diego Rivera. Develop your Spanish language skills as you visit the Museum of Anthropology or sample authentic Mexican cuisine.
Homestay, Service, and Travel

Following orientation in Mexico City, discover the kindness and warmth of Mexican family life during your three-and-a-half-week homestay and work project. Contribute your time and talent to a rewarding community service project, giving back to the people who have been so generous to you. Then cap your Mexican experience with a week of travel, where you relax on beautiful white sand beaches and explore tranquil villages and ancient cities.
Sample activities: Visit beautiful botanical gardens; participate in street festivals; explore ancient towns and villages; shop at local artisans’ markets; enjoy some white-water rafting and zip-lining; tour mangroves and snorkel in crystal clear water.
Sample service projects: Work with disadvantaged children at a local shelter, teach English at a community center; repaint and refurbish important community buildings; distribute food and supplies to communities in need.
