Finding Books
How do I find out what books the Library has on my topic?
Use the library’s online catalog to find books on your topic of interest. You can search by author, title, keyword, subject heading, call number, or journal title. Consult Help for detailed instructions.
Okay, I found some books in the Library Catalog. Now what?
The record information for each book will indicate which library has the book you need, where in that library it is located, and what call number is assigned to it. It will also display the book's circulation status (e.g., is it charged out?)
I can't find the book on the shelf. Now what?
If the book you need is not on the shelf and the Catalog lists the status as "Available,» double check the location of the book. It may be in a location other than the main collection. If you are still unable to locate the item, please visit the Circulation Desk and fill out a Missing Book form or complete the online Missing Book Request Form. You will be notified when and if the book is found.
The Library doesn't have the book I am looking for. Can you get it for me?
Certainly. We can try to get the book on interlibrary loan for you. You will need to fill out an interlibrary loan request form which you can pick up at the circulation desk. Please see our interlibrary loan policy for more details.
