Jordan: Intensive Arabic

Yasir Hamed, Academic Director

Yasir Hamed currently holds a B.A. from Beirut American University and an M.Ed. in Instructional Technology from American Intercontinental University. Mr. Hamed is a visiting instructor of Arabic at Wesleyan University, Lecturer of Arabic at the University of New Haven and a journalist, editor, researcher, and translator with more than 14 years experience teaching Arabic language. He is the founder of the Arabic Language Learning Program in New Haven, Connecticut, and has taught Arabic at Yale University and the Rassias ALPs program at Dartmouth College. Mr. Hamed has successfully created and designed the Arabic Language Program at several U.S. institutions including Wesleyan University, Fairfield University, and the University of New Haven. He is a researcher in the field of Human Language, African, Arabic, and Middle Eastern Culture, and Methods of Teaching Arabic Language to Non-Arabic Speakers. He is a PhD Candidate at The University of Khartoum, College of Education. This will be his first semester as Academic Director for the new Intensive Arabic Language Studies program beginning in Jordan this coming summer 2008.
