Ghana: Urban Ethnomusicology
Coursework
Lectures dealing with issues in African Musicology, Ethnomusicology and Urban Ethnomusicology take place at the SIT office at the Institute of African Studies, University of Ghana. The program includes an intensive practical portion of group workshops, attendance at performances, private instruction and master classes with some of the finest musicians in the country. Students are expected to present a performance piece as part of the seminar.
The following syllabi are either from a recent session of this program or for an upcoming session. Because courses develop and change over time to take advantage of dynamic learning opportunities, actual course content will vary from term to term.
The syllabi can be useful for students, faculty, and study abroad offices in assessing credit transfer. Read more about credit transfer.
