Mark Sinclair, Academic Director

Mark Sinclair holds an MA in Educational Policy and Administration from the Comparative and International Development Education program at the University of Minnesota.  His graduate research analyzed the «The 900 Schools Program,» an educational reform effort developed during the first democratic government in Chile after the Pinochet dictatorship. Mr. Sinclair’s primary interests lie in the fields of education and development in Latin America. Previous work in these fields included positions with the University of Minnesota and the American Friends Service Committee’s program in Chile. He has significant experience working with experiential education and service-learning in both countries with substantial background in program design, delivery and evaluation. Prior to joining SIT, Mark served as both the Academic Director and Educational Advisor for the Chilean-North American Cultural Institute in Valparaiso.  Mark holds dual US and Chilean citizenship.

Rossana Testa, Academic Director

Rossana Testa is a native of Chile, who recently received her PhD in Public Health from the University of Zaragoza.  Dr. Testa holds several degrees and certificates in the fields of Obstetrics, Biology, and Organizational Management. Her core academic interests include women’s health, youth, indigenous medicine, and interculturality.  She has published several articles in professional journals, including the Chilean Journal of Public Health.  Dr. Testa has participated in observational study tours to Indonesia and Japan, focusing on themes of ‘Community Participation in Family Planning’ and ‘ Life-Style Related Diseases Prevention.’  Before joining SIT, she was based for several years in Northern Chile, working with Salud Arica, where she oversaw a special health program for the indigenous community, as well as leading the regional adolescent health service.
