Bolivia: Lens on Latin America
Coursework
Infused with intercultural spirit and focused on Bolivian media in a Latin American context, this program will provide students with valuable information about the country and the role that the media, mainly cinema and video, plays historically and currently in Latin America. It will give a broad profile of the country: its geography, characterized by endangered ecosystems; its cultural and economic micro environments resulting from the variety of climatic levels; the vast diversity of ethnic groups and the polyphony of its music, languages and cultures. Students will study Spanish and engage in a Practicum in Video and Media production, where they will produce short documentary pieces in small groups.
The following syllabi are either from a recent session of this program or for an upcoming session. Because courses develop and change over time to take advantage of dynamic learning opportunities, actual course content will vary from term to term.
The syllabi can be useful for students, faculty, and study abroad offices in assessing credit transfer. Read more about credit transfer.
