Argentina: Social Movements and Human Rights

Brenda Pereyra, Academic Director

Brenda Pereyra, a Peruvian national, is a social worker, earned an MA in Social Policies and is enrolled in a doctoral program on Social Sciences at the University of Buenos Aires.  She has worked in the University of Buenos Aires and University of Lanús for 18 years, where she has taught a variety of courses.  Her emphasis has been in supervising senior theses, supervising pre-professional practices, and teaching about analysis and observation of social problems in Argentina.  She also worked on migration studies and particularly the fight of immigrant organizations for human rights. Ms. Pereyra was the Academic Director of SIT Study Abroad’s Southern Cone:  Regional Integration, Development and Social Change from 2002 until she helped to create the Argentina program in 2006.
