Fitch joined World Learning in 1979 to provide financial and contractual oversight of the organization’s first major USAID training contract in Uganda. He went on to become Assistant Treasurer and Director of Government Finance with responsibility for treasury, financial planning, budget and financial management of U.S. Government contract activity. In 1984 Fitch became Vice President of Finance providing oversight of the organization’s financial development from $8 million in 1984 to over $90 million today. He is currently Vice President of the Federation of the Experiment in International Living, one of two elected officers of this international nonprofit membership association supporting the work of its member organizations from 25 countries. Prior to joining World Learning, Fitch was Town Manager of Putney, Vermont.
Fitch received his BA from the University of Maine, and MA from George Washington University’s School of Public and International Affairs. Fitch has served as a Brattleboro Town School Director, President of United Way of Windham County, President of the Windham World Affairs Council, and in numerous other volunteer positions. He lives with his family in Putney, Vermont.
