McLaughlin joined World Learning in August 2006 after 13 years of experience in strategic business development at technology startups and most recently at Microsoft Corporation, where she handled planning, business development and forecasting for a variety of digital media and wireless products.
Prior to joining Microsoft, McLaughlin was the Co-Founder and Chief Strategy Officer of Onvia, Inc., an online retailer and procurement system for businesses and government agencies, where she defined the business plan and strategy, ran business development and was responsible for operational leadership. McLaughlin has also been a management and marketing consultant to leading companies in the technology sector, including IBM, Digital Equipment Corp., Compaq, Cisco and Oracle. She has worked and traveled extensively throughout Europe, Asia and the Middle East and has served on boards for non-profits in the area of experiential education.
McLaughlin received her BA in Business from The Richard Ivey School of Business at the University of Western Ontario. She lives with her husband and two daughters in Brattleboro, Vermont.
