SIT Study Abroad is the pioneer in field-based, experiential programs for undergraduate students. More than 80 semester and summer programs offer a unique program model with thematic focus, in Africa, Asia and the Pacific, Europe, Latin America and the Caribbean, and the Middle East. Over the last fifty years, SIT’s model and philosophy have deepened and expanded across disciplines and countries. We are committed to not only providing education for our students, but also to contributing to our host communities in meaningful ways.

SIT Study Abroad programs prepare students to be interculturally effective leaders, professionals, and citizens. In so doing, SIT fosters a worldwide network of individuals and organizations committed to responsible engagement in a changing world.

In a recent survey, more than half of SIT Study Abroad alumni described their experience as transformational for their lives. SIT programs require students to interact every day with local communities, in both academic and personal ways, and these experiences translate into empathy, understanding, and a new perspective. Students develop an analytical and compassionate lens, and integrate themselves into the world community, becoming truly global citizens.

"I can say with absolute certainty that I have been permanently altered by what I have seen, the people I have met, and the reflections which have resulted from my time here."

- Sara Franklin, SIT Study Abroad, South Africa
