Coursework
The main objective of the program is to provide academic and experiential knowledge of Chilean Economic Development, as the country becomes a focal point in the process of globalization. The core course of the academic seminar, taught in Spanish, takes place at the University of Chile. The program includes lectures with some of the leading academics and professionals of Chile - and provides an opportunity to learn and apply different perspectives on the Chilean political economy. During the term, students will also develop skills in field methodology, to be utilized during the Independent Study Project (ISP). Intensive Spanish language study allows students to engage with locals and to understand Chile more fully.
The following syllabi are either from a recent session of this program or for an upcoming session. Because courses develop and change over time to take advantage of dynamic learning opportunities, actual course content will vary from term to term.
The syllabi can be useful for students, faculty, and study abroad offices in assessing credit transfer. Read more about credit transfer.
