Fernando García, Academic Director
Fernando García is a political scientist who received his B.A. from Simon Fraser University of British Columbia, Canada, and his M.A. and Ph.D. degrees from York University. He has taught at York University and Ryerson Polytechnic University of Toronto, the Universidad Andina Simón Bolivar and Universidad Mayor de San Simón in Bolivia and was Executive Director of the Bolivian Foundation for Democratic Reform (http://www.fbrd.netfirms.com). Currently, he is Associate Fellow of the Centre for Research on Latin America and the Caribbean (CERLAC) of York University. Dr. García's main areas of research include international relations, comparative politics of Latin America, political economy, epistemology and theories of the State applied to Latin America. Dr. García has published extensively in Canada, the United States, Bolivia and Perú. He became Academic Director of SIT Study Abroad in Santiago, Chile in January 2005.
