Location: Nicaragua
Duration: 2010-2012
Funder: USAID
Contact: deanna.wertheimer@worldlearning.org

The FORECAST-Nicaragua Institutional Development and Training program builds the capacities of local nongovernmental organizations through targeted institutional strengthening activities rooted in Human and Institutional Capacity Development (HICD) methodology. By building the capacity of these organizations they are able to better meet their program objectives and ensure a more vibrant civil society in Nicaragua.   Program activities undertaken by FORECAST-Nicaragua fall into three broad categories:

  • Human and Institutional Capacity Development (HICD) activities
    Institutional assessments, organizational mapping, identification of performance gaps, recommendations for future interventions or performance improvement activities that may include study tours, participant training, workshops, technical assistance, individual or workgroup performance, etc;
  • Diagnostics and technical assistance
    Diagnostic/assessment of one or more areas within an organization with recommendations for future interventions or performance improvement activities listed above;
  • Exceptional requests, non-HICD interventions
    Study tours, event coordination, specific training requests, academic education, etc.
We frequently seek international, regional, and local experts with a variety of organizational development capacities. Past programs include TA and/or consultancies in communications strategies (external and internal), financial management, monitoring and evaluation, project development, sustainability and resource development, volunteer management, and institutional assessments. If you would like to receive announcements of upcoming RFPs please send a brief email outlining your areas of specialization, level of Spanish, and regional expertise with your CV attached to providers@worldlearning.org.
