International Student and Scholar Office
Overview
The International Student and Scholar Office provides special assistance to all SIT international students. In addition to providing necessary information on Immigration and Naturalization Service regulations, the office counsels and advises students on cultural opportunities, cross-cultural concerns, employment, banking, driving regulations, and much more.
Mission Statement
The International Student and Scholar Office is dedicated to ensuring a positive environment for a diverse, multicultural community, by providing:
- Visa and immigration support, work authorization, tax information, and consular and embassy information
- Individual advice and support to help all SIT students adjust to new cultural settings and realize their own heritage and identity
- Multicultural event design, programming, implementation, and assistance to SIT and other academic institutions throughout the region
- Advice and support for staff and faculty regarding student concerns, programming, and resources
Where Our Students Come From
SIT has welcomed students from countries throughout the world, including the following: Australia, Austria, Brazil, Canada, China, Ethiopia, Gabon, Great Britain, India, Japan, Kenya, Mexico, Philippines, Sao Tome and Principe, Senegal, South Korea, Tanzania, Thailand, China (Tibet), Togo, Ukraine, USA.
