Overview

World Learning has been training people in a variety of settings for 75 years, based on an experiential approach that has been proven to work better than traditional classrooms. This approach, which focuses on a respect for local knowledge, participation, reflection, and follow up, is embedded in our history as a pioneer in experiential education since 1932. The concept remains central to our approach today.

Our Approach

World Learning’s trainings can be designed for small groups, individuals, or trainers who then go out and train other trainers. Because of the flexibility of the World Learning training platform, sessions can be tailored for virtually any audience, whether it’s farm workers in Africa, teachers in Alaska, or aid workers in Nepal.

World Learning can also offer academic accreditation and certification to trainers or participants through its SIT Graduate Institute, something most other organizations cannot offer. Accredited trainers have more credibility and a deeper commitment to the craft of training because they have invested the additional time and effort to become certified. Certification can be reviewed and renewed on a schedule set by the donor to ensure that trainers maintain a standard of quality and compliance.
