Relate. Create. Innovate...

You in the World!

Americans for Informed Democracy (http://www.aidemocracy.org/) and World Learning’s School for International Training (SIT) will host a one-day conference that will equip the next generation of global leaders to turn their international experiences into social action. More and more students are having transformational educational experience through study abroad or international exchange programs. These opportunities open students' eyes to the global reality of a small and flat world. Students return with a keen understanding of another culture and an awareness of how to walk across differences.

This conference will help students translate these life-changing experiences into concrete action. It will help answer the burning questions that many students have upon returning to their home country: What am I going to do with this understanding? How am I going to turn this experience into positive change?

Conference activities will include keynote addresses on being a global citizen, hands-on workshops lead by global entrepreneurs, and breakout sessions allowing students to network with like-minded individuals interested in addressing the world's challenges. The conference will bring together study abroad alums, international students, and world travelers. It will help foster a network of young people committed to being active engagers in a changing world.

Confirmed speakers include:

  • Carol Bellamy, President and CEO, World Learning and School for International Training, and Former Executive Director, UNICEF
  • Susan Davis, Director of the Global Academy for Social Entrepreneurship and Vice President, Ashoka
