World Learning Names New Vice President and Chief Information Officer

BRATTLEBORO, VT (June 18, 2007) – World Learning has appointed Michael Kearney to the position of Vice President and Chief Information Officer, reporting to Senior Vice President and Chief Operating Officer, Kristen McLaughlin.

Kearney has 25 years of experience as a senior executive responsible for building and optimizing Information Technology capabilities to improve organizational growth and efficiency. Kearney joins World Learning from BearingPoint, a leading management and technology consulting firm. Prior to his work at BearingPoint, Kearney served as Chief Technology Officer and Senior Vice President at The Knights of Columbus, where he built a sophisticated technology team and global infrastructure for the Fortune 1000 insurance firm. He also served as the Chief Operations Officer for the Phoenix Companies in Hartford, CT.

Kearney is a graduate of Bryant University with a bachelor’s degree in business administration and a concentration in MIS.

At World Learning, Kearney will be responsible for updating and developing technology infrastructure and systems across the organization, providing long-term vision for the development and implementation of a Global Virtual Campus.
