About SIT/World Learning
SIT is accredited by the New England Association of Schools and Colleges, Inc., a non-governmental, nationally recognized organization. Inquiries regarding the status of an institution's accreditation by the New England Association should be directed to the administrative staff of the school or college. Individuals may also contact the Association by writing the New England Association of Schools and Colleges, Inc.
SIT Study Abroad is part of a private, nonprofit international organization, World Learning. SIT Study Abroad programs benefit from the other World Learning program areas: International Development Programs, the SIT Graduate Institute and The Experiment in International Living. SIT Study Abroad's ability to offer local and global networks and resources to students is enhanced by being part of a truly global organization like World Learning.
SIT Study Abroad has offered programs for undergraduate college students for over 50 years, and currently offers over 80 programs in Asia, Africa, Latin America, Europe, the Pacific, the Caribbean, and the Middle East. To date, more than 25,000 students have benefited from SIT Study Abroad’s field-based programs.
The mission of SIT Study Abroad is to prepare students to be interculturally effective leaders, professionals, and citizens. In so doing, SIT fosters a worldwide network of individuals and organizations committed to responsible engagement in a changing world.
